Fox News on PBS on McCartney

Fox News is giving lots of coverage to PBS deciding to edit out Paul McCartney's jabs at George Bush after receiving the Gershwin Prize from President Obama. I saw the preview of the show and thought McCartney sounded sharper and funnier (and less defensive) than he has in many years. Oh well.

Here is a comment on the Fox News page about this issue:

lario Texas What a pile of manuure posted by a total idiot. Bush made better grades than Cheater Kennedy, "get me a masseuse" Gore, or "beat the tax" Kerry. The moron, Sere Paul, or the idiot "walrot" doesn't know that Laura Bush was a librarian at one time. That made what McCarney said doubly moronic. Just like your post. I'm actually not an idiot. I'm actually a great guy who does a lot for people - maybe for you an for family and you don't even know it. My screen name is actually Thewalrus505 because I am John Lennon in a Beatles Tribute Band. I've also written a book on the assassination of JFK and helped with one on Sir Paul McCartney. Everywhere I go, people also tell me I look like John Travolta. I'm a big fan of Paul's and I've met him several times. He's always treated me with respect and I know he cares a lot for america because he's the one that arranged the concert for NYC in 2001 when 911 happened. This comment he made has been overexaggerated and it should have been taken as a joke. But, thanks for your opinion in calling me moronic...should I tell the teacher you're being mean to me? I better not as you might get placed in detention and they'll call your mommy.

McCartney mentions Lennon repeatedly in the extensive interview posted on PBS. It's not his fault that none of those comments got included in the broadcast.

It was "small" of you to look for reasons to criticize McCartney over this. Can't the man just be honored for his own work? People never seem to demand that McCartney get his due when it's something honoring Lennon.

I wonder how Lennon would've acted if Paul had been killed instead?
