Selling Out: What It Takes For Artists To Earn Minimum Wage With Music Sales

Go buy some music, y'all: each month a solo artist needs to sell 143 CDs, 1229 iTunes albums, or 12,399 track downloads.  A 4-member ensemble and a manager with a taste for the finer things in life?  Let's just say we need to sell a lot more than that.

I say mates, lovely blog, alright? Listen up, though - rock and roll is fine and well, but it's not how you get rich. Take it from me - real estate is what you want to pursue. When I'm not working out on me yoga mat, making love to 22-year-olds in large groups, or complaining about Keef's cigarette smoke, I buy large tracts of land in busy cities. It's worked out well for me, and it means I don't even have to pretend I care what my voice sounds like on stage or whether or not Keef knows what song we're playing. Who could sleep if that needed to get sorted? Bloody hell.
So yes, real estate. Give it a go. Right then, I'm off.

I spend more in a week on denim bowling shirts. You people are just sad.
